About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Chantal Mendoza and I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada. My current major is Associate of Applied Science in Accounting. I really like pastry arts, dance, music and working with others. I like all types of dance, but I have personally participated in Hip-Hop, Folklorico, and Polynesian style dancing. I enjoy listening to all types of music. I'm still trying to figure out my career choice right now, I would like to be a math teacher as well, because I like math and I believe I'm good at it.

My first impression of IS101 is that I didn't really know what this class was about at first then I learned that the class is to teach us on how to use the internet to its full potential, for example there's so much you can do with your email to make it all organized and simple. I enjoy going to CSN, I was a little set back at first not knowing if I should go to community college or just go to UNLV at once right after high school, but I think it's nice going to CSN because the classes are nice, I'm saving more money, and I have more time to figure out what I would like to do in the future.

I believe I am well experienced with using peripheral devices both when being connected to a computer through external ports and through a wireless connection. As we know everything evolves overtime with keyboards, mouses, scanners, digital cameras, speakers, microphones, printers, and ways to store our information. I personally have a wireless keyboard and mouse for my desktop. My desktop also came with a webcam and speaker installed to it. Lastly, I have a printer that's also a scanner.

  1. Figuring out one's career choice -- or one's major/degree in higher education -- is often a winding path!

I remember when I was starting college, I heard the statistic that most students change their major at least during their higher education journey. Pastry arts, dancing, music, accounting... Talk to as many people in those industries as you can to see if you would or would like all aspects of those industries, job opportunities, and career advancement outlooks. Whichever you choose to focus your time and energy on, you will spend much of your waking hours in that job so it should be something you enjoy doing :-)

    Welcome to IS101-3210, Fall 2025, Chantal ^_^

  4. I as well was not too sure about what this class would teach me. I was also stumped about my future occupation but luckily for me I was granted exposure to Cyber Security.

  5. Hello Chantal, what is your favorite pastry? My favorite is macrons. I thought of being a teacher for a blink of an eye, but I would not want to deal with kids. I hate math. It is my weakness. I wish it came easier to me.
